WELCOME TO OUR WEB PAGES. Come in, stay awhile, and meet the Choir! The Choir is based in the town of Cheadle in Staffordshire and was formed in 1993. It is not a competitive choir and its members sing for the pleasure of singing together in harmony and to entertain. The Choir performs throughout Staffordshire and beyond for organisations that are raising monies for charitable purposes. WE TAKE OUR NAME from the local Churnet River Valley, which is an extremely attractive local beauty spot and tourist district. Many visitors are lured to our area since Alton Towers entertainment park, Churnet Valley Railway and the Consul Nature Park are all located in the valley.
R Picture of Churnet Valley MV Choir 2006 BECAUSE we are a relatively small choir, we can provide entertainment to the smaller venue, such as churches and village halls. We generally assemble a choir of eighteen to twenty members, although on occasion we might rise to twenty four singers. Picture by kind permission of The Sentinel WE ARE always available for local concerts of whatever nature, so we encourage discussions with our Concert Secretary - see Choir Officials or click here. The picture above shows us in our new Concert outfits which have cost a "lora-lora" money. We think that we look kind-a-smart. THE CHOIR has also recently performed at a funeral and a wedding, which is unusual. However it is felt that this might well be a future use for choirs such as ours. We are mostly retired and prepared to travel midweek to help out at such functions.
